Jackson Smith
PT, DPT
Southfield
I became interested in physical therapy during high school when I hurt my hips playing football. At the time, I was obsessed with anything related to sports, fitness, or the body, and I was amazed at how after only a few visits to my local PT, my hips no longer hurt. That small experience was more than enough to spark my desire to become a physical therapist, and I immediately began on the path necessary to achieve it once I started my collegiate career.
I grew up in a small town outside of Lansing called Holt, Michigan. I am the eldest of 4 children (1 sister and 2 brothers). As mentioned before, I love fitness and sports (especially football), and I also enjoy fishing, hunting, video games, boating, karaoke, and hanging out with friends. I live happily with my girlfriend, whom I have dated since 2017. We spend most of our time exploring the hidden gems of Metro Detroit and socializing with our friends in the area.
I enjoy all aspects of the physical therapy field, but I find the most enjoyment working with young athletes, people with amputations, and injuries to the shoulder and to the neck. I have a passion for learning and teaching, so my goals for my career are to become a great resource for those around me and to be able to help mentor the newer generations of therapists as they enter the field.
